A walk in Kazimierz, class 1c – 7/10/2019

On October 7, 2019, class 1c went for a guided walk in the Jewish part of the Kazimierz district to get to know the area where she will spend most of her time in the next three years and that there would be no problem in the future “Where is the corner of Dajwór and Miodowa Streets ? “… During the walk, we visited the Old Synagogue, where we received a large dose of historical knowledge about the city of Kazimierz, the Jewish nation and its culture, customs and traditions, as well as Szeroka and Józefa Streets, where we learned about the history of some buildings. Passing by numerous restaurants and cafes, we found out what is kosher and what is treacherous. Finally, your guide prepared an urban game for us, during which we were looking for a menorah, mezuzah, mikvah and matzevot … Sounds mysterious? In that case, it’s high time to explore the secrets of Krakow’s Kazimierz. And finally – because our trip took place in the first week of the new year 5780 according to the Jewish calendar and on the eve of Yom Kippur – traditional wishes for the entire school community “May we be enrolled in a good year!”
