On January 20, as every year, in the walls of VILO, Film Day was held, this time devoted to Walt Disney’s cinema.
The plan of the event included: an expert lecture on the history of Disney led by Jacek Dziduszka, competition for the best outfit inspired by the theme and screening of the film “Inside out”, winner of the 2015 Oscar in the category: best animated film.
The first minutes after the official start of the Film Day brought an unexpected change. Unfortunately, due to a mishap, the speaker could not appear in person. His role was taken over by a high school student, privately a Disney fan, Magda Błaszczyk from class 3c, who gave a lecture, supported by extremely meticulous knowledge, covering the history, facts and filmography related to the title character.
Then there was a contest for the best Disney-inspired outfit. 37 students dressed in costumes from the films took part in the competition. Each participant had a moment to present their character on stage. Among them were, among others female versions of Peter Pan, Cruella de Mon (in two incarnations), characters from Alice in Wonderland, two Beautiful (and one Beast) or the heroes of the new Star Wars.
The next item on the agenda was (unexpectedly) karaoke. A spontaneous decision resulting from the change of plans resulted in songs from “The Lion King”, “Mulan”, “Hercules” and “Pocahontas” in a daring performance of soloists or ensembles consisting of entire classes (big applause for 2c for the song “I’ll make men of you” from the movie “Mulan”!).
The culmination of the Film Day was the screening of the 2015 movie “Inside out” by Disney Pixar.
After the show, the winners were announced and the awards for participation in the competition for the best costume were presented.
Ultimately, after counting the votes of the audience, the first place went to Maja Strzebońska from class 3c, dressed as Cinderella (winning the first place for the second year in a row). The second was Weronika Panek from class 1i, who appeared as Jessie from the movie “Toy story”. The third place went to Katarzyna Kubiak with 1b, dressed as Kim Possible.
