On November 7, 2016, our school was visited by Dr. Marcjanna Nóżka, a researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University. Our guest presented a lecture entitled “Social labeling processes”. The students learned about the functions, examples, course and consequences of such sociological processes as: stigmatization, marking, social exclusion as well as the consequences of these processes for the human individual and his functioning in the community. Our expert also presented selected theories of social marking, paying attention not only to its constant presence in the modern world, but also to the historical context. The message was enriched with a photo show. The content of the lecture sparked a lively reaction from the room, prompting an interesting scientific discussion. The meeting was attended by classes implementing the curriculum of knowledge about society at the advanced level: 2C, 2E and 2F.
