On January 12, 2017, the VI Lyceum hosted prof. dr hab. Stanisław Sroka, researcher at the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University. Our speaker gave a lecture entitled “The Angevins in Poland”. The audience learned about the history of Polish-Hungarian relations in the fourteenth century, with particular emphasis on the reign of Casimir the Great. They learned about the meanders of his matrimonial policy, the backstage of the assumption of the Polish throne by Ludwik Węgierski and the turning points of his reign in Poland and Hungary. The meeting was attended by classes implementing the history curriculum at the advanced level: 2A / 3, 2E and 2F.
