1. Who are we helping?
Mrs. Natalia (44) and her husband – Mr. Krzysztof (50) are raising five children:
Paweł (21), Mateusz (18), Ania (17), Piotrek (14) and Wiktor (11). The parents remain unemployed due to the need to care for two disabled sons: Mateusz and Piotrek. Nevertheless, they make constant efforts to improve their current situation.
While looking for a permanent job, they perform various odd jobs to ensure the best possible living for the children. The eldest son also does his best to relieve his parents by taking up various temporary jobs. The current source of income for the family are benefits and irregular payments. After deducting medical expenses and housing rent, the total income per family member is approximately PLN 375. An additional burden is the debt of 8 thousand. PLN, resulting
with difficulty paying rent on a regular basis. Despite the difficult situation and many obstacles, the family does not lose determination, perseverance and optimism in striving to improve the current situation. Each family member tries to develop their talents and interests in order to be able to benefit from them. Mrs. Natalia points out that her greatest pride and joy are children. He dreams of finding a permanent job, renting a larger apartment (currently has only 2 rooms for 7 people) and living a happy, peaceful life. Unfortunately, due to low income, the family does not have enough money to spend “more”. Among the greatest needs, Mrs.Natalia mentions a washing machine (due to the necessity to wash bed linen often – up to 6 times a day, which is caused by her sons’ disease), winter clothes and chemicals (a large amount of washing powder and rinsing liquids are needed – the need to wash bed linen often ).
