On October 31, we hosted a group of young people from Bilbao in our school, who stayed in Poland as part of a trip organized by Asociación Pro Tradición y Cultura Europea (Association for European Tradition and Culture).
The association, whose founder and chairman is Don Álvaro Enrique de Villamor, promotes the European Cultural Heritage among young people. The flagship project of A.P.T.C. E. is the organization of an expedition on the historical theme of Románico XXI. These trips follow the tradition of the famous Ruta Quetzal expeditions.
One of the most interesting initiatives of this project was establishing cooperation between the Basque Country and Lesser Poland, culminating in the planting of Gernikako Arbola, an oak symbol of Basque freedom, in the immediate vicinity of KL Auschwitz.
In Poland, the partners of the Association are the T. Kosciuszko Foundation in Krakow and the Museum of the Home Army.
The hosts of the meeting were classes 1h and 2i.
