The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity lottery

Dear Sir or Madam,
as every year, we organize a raffle, the income of which will support the 26th Final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (this time its aim will be to raise funds for equal opportunities in the treatment of newborns).

The lottery will be held on January 11-12, 2018 at our school, the position will be located on the first floor of the high school, next to the secretary’s office. Each ticket will cost 5 zlotys.

Anyone who would like to help can donate anything that will contribute to the lottery, such as a book, film, CD or, for example, chocolates, a pack of jelly beans or other delicacies. It may be a wrong gift that you don’t know what to do with or something completely unconventional.

Items can be brought to the staff room, to Mrs. Izabela Żelazna, or to the English teachers’ room, to Mrs. Anna Moskała. Each item will be entered on a personal list and will receive its sequence number (later drawn by participants in the lottery).

Our activity is reported to the Krakow Interschool Staff of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and there is also the settlement of the collected amount (in the presence of volunteers – students of our school). We collect money to a sealed box of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.

I strongly encourage you to participate.

Izabela Żelazna.

National Booktrailer Film Festival Competition

Complex of General Secondary Schools No. 2 for them. St. Jadwiga Królowej in Nowy Targ invites you to participate in the first edition of the national competition “Booktrailer Film Festival”. The project is addressed to primary and secondary school students aged 14-18.

Booktrailer Film Festival is an educational undertaking promoting reading among young people. Its idea is based on combining tradition and modernity – combining learning about literature with new technologies, integrating the art of the word and the language of cinema, developing competences related to cooperation in a group and a thorough analysis of literary activity. The project encourages reading, teaches and stimulates creativity.

The participants’ task is to prepare a two-minute film promoting the selected book, i.e. the book-trailer. The competition is held simultaneously in Italy, France and Bulgaria. The five films with the highest scores according to the jury’s evaluation will be submitted to the international finals of the competition in Brescia (Italy).

The condition for participation in the competition is the prior submission of the application to the organizer of the national preliminaries by the end of February 2018 to the address booktrailernowytarg@gmail.com and completing the application form available on the website www.booktrailerfilmfestival.eu in the period from January 15 to March 12, 2018. The final of the competition will be held on April 6, 2018 in Nowy Targ.

Reading lessons

VILO youth recently had a unique opportunity to look at literature from a slightly different angle. “Reading Lessons” is a social campaign of the Tygodnik Powszechny Foundation, which aims to arouse interest in literature by talking about selected texts with prominent writers and writers, critics and critics, professors and professors.

Grzegorz Jankowicz, an outstanding expert in his work, took us on a journey with Joseph Conrad into the mysteries of his “Heart of Darkness”. The students, together with the teacher, discovered new layers of meanings, deconstructed the opinions that functioned in common circulation and translated the experiences of the heroes into the consciousness of the 21st century man.

Old and new outdoor games and activities

Task stalking, jogging and walking are a proposal for the last time in the pre-vacation period – physical education lessons for students in classes: 2a1, 2a2, 2h, 2c, 2e, 1a1, 1b, 2i, 2b. In addition to orientation in the field, solving hidden educational puzzles, motor tasks and physical activity in the open air, in the aura of W. Bednarski Park and Krakus Mound, it is an excellent opportunity to remind the safety rules for the upcoming holidays. WE RECOMMEND !!!
