Charity campaign – Sandwich for PLN 1

This year’s school volunteering activities were crowned with a fundraiser for the “SANDWICH for a zloty” campaign.

Volunteers collected PLN 987.47. This amount (and even a little more than 1000 zlotys) was added to the budget of the Kryvyi Rih parish in Ukraine, where the Missionaries of La Salette nourish the poor, pensioners, refugees and orphaned children.

We thank everyone who supported this noble work with their gift.

THE NOBLE PACK 2018

Thanks to the generosity of students, parents and teachers, we managed to collect and purchase all the necessary products, including food, cosmetics, winter clothes, a bed, and products for babies. The packages also contained many other necessary things, among which, of course, sweets and toys could not be missing.

On Saturday, December 8, on the final day of the campaign, we made every effort to finish the package with the last button. Then we took it to the warehouse, from where it went straight into the hands of the family.

Szlachetna Paczka in our school was a complete success – the recipients were very happy and grateful, the children were very happy to unpack, not to mention the contents of the holiday packages. The action would have failed, however, had it not been for the mobilization of the entire school community. We would like to thank all donors and volunteers for their help and the work they put into preparing the package.

WOŚP raffle

Dear Sir or Madam,
as every year, we organize a raffle, the income of which will support the 26th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (this time its goal will be to raise funds to equalize the chances in the treatment of newborns).

The lottery will be held on January 11-12, 2018 in our school, the position will be located on the first floor of the high school, next to the secretary’s office. Each ticket will cost 5 zlotys.

Anyone who would like to help can donate anything that will contribute to the lottery, e.g. a book, film, CD or e.g. chocolates, a pack of jelly beans or other delicacies. It may be a misguided gift that you don’t know what to do with or something completely unconventional.

Items can be brought to the staff room, to Mrs. Izabela Żelazna, or to the English speaking room, to Mrs. Anna Moskała. Each item will be entered on a personal list and will receive its sequence number (later drawn by participants in the lottery).

Our activity is reported to the Krakow Interschool Staff of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and there is also the settlement of the collected amount (in the presence of volunteers – students of our school). We collect money to a sealed box of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.

I strongly encourage you to participate.

Izabela Żelazna.

DKMS – Komórkomania campaign in High School no

On December 18-20, the Komórkomania campaign took place in our school. The DKMS Foundation, patron of the action, is looking for bone marrow donors, who have already found over a million in Poland. As a result, 4 565 patients with blood cancers were saved.

From Monday to Wednesday, at each break, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the volunteer desk at the secretary’s office, you could join the donor bank by completing the form and giving a sample.

Among the 45 people who registered as potential bone marrow donors were both students and teachers.

A big thank you goes to the volunteers in classes 1A3, 2A3 and 3A3.

Izabela Żelazna (organizer of the campaign).

THE NOBLE PACK 2017

Szlachetna Paczka is a nationwide project to help people in need – our school, led by Professor Marcin Mikruta, once again became involved in this action. We prepared a package for a family of six – Mrs. Beata, Mr. Adam and their children: Oskar, Kacper, Nikola and Alan.

Thanks to the generosity of students, parents and teachers, we managed to collect and purchase all the necessary products, including wall unit and desk for children, sports outfits for Alan and Kacper who train acrobatics. The packages also included many other necessary things, including, of course, toys and games that children especially liked.

On Friday, December 9, class 2f packed the gifts to the accompaniment of Christmas songs. On Saturday, on the final day of the campaign, we made every effort to finish the package with the last button. Then we took it to the warehouse, from where it went straight into the hands of the family.

Szlachetna Paczka in our school was a complete success – the recipients were very happy and grateful, the children were very happy to unpack, not to mention the contents of holiday packages. The action would have failed, however, had it not been for the mobilization of the entire school community. We would like to thank all donors and volunteers for the help and work put into preparing the package. We hope to participate in this initiative again next year.

CHARITY COLLECTION OF CLOTHING FOR HOMEMADE PERSONS – THANKS

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Students,

We also thank the Volunteers and Volunteers from classes 2a1 and 2b, without whom it would be impossible to carry out the fundraising campaign, as well as Mrs. Magdalena Brud and students from class 2a2 for the transport of gifts to the Living Studio.

The collection of clothes in our high school has been completed, but we encourage you to individually support the volunteers of the Living Studio and Soup in Planty. More info on page: http://zywapracownia.pl/.

Cooperation with the Dr Clown Foundation

At the beginning of the school year, we launched another edition of the project to support the residents of Krakow Nursing Homes in cooperation with the Dr Clown Foundation. The new group of volunteers includes artistically talented young people who have set the bar exceptionally high for themselves. We intend to prepare a performance “from scratch”, ie to create our own script, prepare our own costumes and scenery. There will also be a musical setting supervised by our graduate – Urszula Bizunowicz. We also hope to play our own instruments. The script is extremely colorful, written especially with the demanding audience in mind. We do not want to reveal too many details, we will only say that the action will take place in the well-known years of the Polish People’s Republic. There will be a spicy love thread, and there will also be a large dose of humor. In order to amuse such a demanding audience, however, we must be well prepared. We gained appropriate competences during a special training called “Laughter therapy”, during which we gained a lot of important information about the Dr Clown Foundation itself, we learned the secrets of working with children (which is especially valuable for those who want to visit the youngest in hospitals in the future), we had a great time by learning magic tricks and learning to tie balloons. We also received valuable tips thanks to which our show will fulfill its role and bring a smile to the lips of patients from every retirement home.
