Submit your idea to the 4th edition of the Civic Budget of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship

Do you have an idea for an event that will appeal to the inhabitants of your district? Do you see that some investment or initiative is needed to help solve a social problem? Do you want your neighborhood to be more interesting or simply – more beautiful? It is good – on May 27, the submission of tasks for the 4th edition of the Civic Budget of the Małopolska Region starts. Every resident of the voivodeship who is 16 years of age or older can submit an idea. The Marshal’s Office of the Małopolskie Voivodeship is waiting for the completed forms until June 17.

PLN 12 million – this is the amount of money that the Board of the Małopolska Region is allocating for the implementation of the 4th edition of the Civic Budget of the Małopolska Region. This is as much as PLN 4 million more than last year! As a result, many more projects will be implemented than in previous editions. So let’s try your hand and submit your idea – there is a good chance that it will be implemented.

How to submit a task in the 4th edition of BO Małopolska?

Within the framework of the regional civic budget, many cultural, health, ecological, and educational projects aimed at seniors and people with disabilities have been implemented in recent years. Among them were, among others therapeutic classes, folk art workshops, training for young footballers, as well as tree planting campaigns, installation of life-saving defibrillators or opening a bookstore in the Provincial Public Library. The variety is huge – so almost everyone has a chance to implement their idea! It is only important that it is not too local – the task submitted to the civic budget of the Małopolskie Voivodeship must cover at least one poviat or the city of Krakow.

The obligatory criterion is the financial question. In the 4th edition of BO Małopolska, only those tasks with an estimated cost of at least PLN 50,000 will be possible. PLN, and a maximum – 150 thousand. PLN. If you plan to submit an idea that generates maintenance costs in the coming years, we must remember that annually they may not exceed 10% of the amount of this task.

This year, you can submit pro-social, pro-health, cultural, educational, sports, tourist or ecological tasks. These can be both infrastructural activities, that is, providing for the execution of construction works, and of a “soft” nature – including events, workshops, etc. It should be remembered, however, that the tasks consisting in financing only project documentation or the implementation of one of the stages of a larger investment will not be carried out from the voivodeship civic budget.

Note – Your idea, already at the submission stage, must be supported by 30 residents who are 16 years old and live in the sub-region concerned by this task. Proof of this support is the list of signatures that must be attached to the form.

Important dates – don’t miss it!

The completed application form and the list of support should be submitted to the Marshal’s Office between May 27 and June 17. You can do it in person by bringing the documents to the registry of the office (ul. Racławicka 56, 30-017 Kraków or ul. Basztowa 22, 31-156 Kraków) or to one of the local agencies – in Nowy Sącz, Tarnów or Oświęcim – or send them post office. Remember, however, that the date of receipt by the office (or agency) is decisive, not the postmark. So make sure your form arrives on time.

Tasks can also be submitted electronically – via the Electronic Inbox. However, this way only the form can be sent, the required list of support will have to be delivered to the office in original by mail or in person.

The template of the form and the list of support can be found at www.bo.malopolska.pl

I have submitted the form – and what next?

Each task that will be submitted to the civic budget will be checked by the employees of the marshal’s office. By July 26, the Board of the Małopolska Region will publish on www.bo.malopolska.pl a list of all submitted tasks, detailing rejected proposals. Importantly, this list is not final, because in the 4th edition, the possibility of appealing against this decision of the ZWM was introduced. According to the rules of the civic budget, the author of the rejected task will have 5 working days from the date of publication of the list. Appeals will be considered by the Council of the Civic Budget of the Małopolska Region.

All tasks that are ultimately positively assessed will be allowed to vote. This year it will run from 9 to 30 September.
