First and introductory grade students took a solemn oath on the Standard of the School, becoming full students of our school, students aware of their rights and obligations.

The letter from the absent Mrs. Maria Kieruzal, chairman of the Parents’ Council, was read by Deputy Director Iwona Fedan.

The chairman of the Students’ Self-Government, Piotr Regdos, also addressed warm words to the audience.

Mr. Czesław Wróbel, PhD, presented the prizes to the winners of the Patron Knowledge competition: Maja Strzebońska from class 1c, which illustrated Adam Mickiewicz’s Bajdars, and Monika Świkszcz from 1a1 and Sylwia Zięba from 0h2.

And then Mr. Tomasz Schimscheiner appeared on the stage, recalling with emotion the years spent in the walls of High School No. 6 and introducing the audience to the mood of the national epic by reciting fragments of Pan Tadeusz.

The hosts Julia and Bartosz gave a short introduction to the performance entitled “Painted with words”. Written and directed by Teresa Lityńska-Konieczny.

Crushed by the defeat of the November Uprising, saddened by the news of the repression of patriots, worried about the disputes among emigrants staying in Paris, not accepting Western culture, struggling with personal problems, and yet the poet, convinced of the need to pour a little hope into the hearts of Poles, began to write a piece, which was to become a kind of return to the “country of childhood”, to a small homeland. The artistic plans were modest. There was to be a short idyll about “domestic matters”. However, a work was created consisting of 12 books, now called the national epic.
Everyone can already guess that it is about Pan Tadeusz

this strangely real fairy tale in which the shadows break more gently and the blue of the sky is clearer. From the seemingly common course of the story emerges a happy country, the sightseeing of which gives us a delight similar to what fills us when we look at the sunny landscapes of the old masters of painting, where there are so many details that when we re-examine our eyes, we enjoy the traces of a brush. , the thickenings of paint become plastic at a distance, where all these trinkets serve one purpose and together they create enormous music, a very pure symphony of colors.

Today it is hard to believe that the readers and critics treated the work with great reserve and that numerous copies were stored in magazines and did not find buyers. The events we mention took place 180 years ago. In 1834 – after 18 months of work – the first edition of the work was published. On the occasion of this anniversary, our school artists prepared a performance using one of the most important themes of the work – BEAUTY OF THE HOMELAND.

The wonderful spectacle provided an unforgettable experience for everyone.

The ceremony was graced by a concert of the Orchestra and Soloists of the State Secondary Music School Władysław Żeleński in Krakow.

We listened to:

Danse macabre Op. 40 – Camille Saint-Saëns
Violin solo – Anna Gęgotek
The School Symphony Orchestra was conducted by Mrs. Joanna Natalia Ślusarczyk
and

The Blue Rhapsody – George Gershwin performed by Julia Balas – piano and the School Symphony Orchestra. The conductor was Ms Joanna Natalia Ślusarczyk.

School Day – December 18, 2013

December 18, 2013 at We celebrated another School Day at 11.00 in Kiev Centrum. After introducing the flagship mail and singing the school’s anthem, the leaders Barbara Tomków and Piotr Regdos welcomed all the gathered guests, the management, the teaching staff, parents and students of our high school.

Then, the honorable host of the ceremony, Dr. Czesław Wróbel, took the floor, welcoming the guests and emphasizing the importance of the December holiday in the life of the VI LO community.

A short speech combined with Christmas and New Year greetings was also delivered by the chairman of the Parents’ Council, Ms Maria Kieruzal, and the chairman of the Student Self-Government, Bartłomiej Janiczak.

The lecturers gave a short introduction to the performance entitled We do not want to run away from here in the performance of the school’s Proscenium theater. Written and directed by Dr. Marlena Maciejewska.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Colleagues!

The school is a unique place that makes you aware of the passage of time. Every year they start
new students study there, and high school graduates go into adulthood. And this is how successive years and even entire generations pass.
VI Liceum Ogólnokształcące is a school with a very long and rich tradition, which each year includes our December celebration commemorating the birth of the bard and patron of our high school, Adam Mickiewicz.
Poetry, although it seems to be the most direct speech of this world, does not explode like the fire of volcanoes or the water of springs, it feeds on long experiences, knowledge that is in life and is in books written over the centuries is therefore a feeling ,
about which the poet talks about in the ballad Romanticism. FEELING AND FAITH TALKS TO ME STRONGLY THAN WISE GLASS AND EYE. This sentence is the motto of today’s celebration.

Konrad, Gustaw, Karusia, the apparition of Zosia, the Lady who killed you, Konrad Wallenrod are the great figures of the Romantic Pantheon. How do we look today at the characters we know from the books of the bard? Are they just boring heroes of reading? Crazy people? Madmen? Is romanticism relevant in the modern world? Can the great heroes of Mickiewicz be close to us, or are they just (as futurists wanted) stale mummies and rubbish? Should we throw off Konrad’s coat today? Or maybe they are right? Maybe you still get to know the world in the same way, love, fight and die in the same way? Maybe each of us has a bit of a romantic madman? Are there no spirits for sure, this world is soulless?
The answer to these questions is easy, but only if for a moment we reject our intellectual inquiries and repeat the prophecy again: Feeling and faith speak to me stronger than the glass and the eye of the wise!

The wonderful spectacle provided an unforgettable experience for everyone. The performance was followed by a Talent Concert with the following performers:

1) Adam Delimat and Marceli Luśnia students of class 2E2 who took us into the world of music of the most famous jazz standards.
They performed Take Five, a composition by Paul Desmond, the jazz group The Dave Bruck Quartet.

Marceli Luśni 2E2 in a piece from Nancy Sinatra’s Bang Bang repertoire.

Ola can also boast a bronze medal in the Polish Cup for 2012 and three gold medals won in the International competition in artistic gymnastics, played in Bosnia, and three gold medals won in the International competition in artistic gymnastics, held in Hungary.

Jubilee of the 110th anniversary of the existence of the VI LO im. Adam Mickiewicz in Krakow –

the ceremony took place on December 20, 2012.

The anniversary celebrations began with a solemn mass, which was celebrated in St. Mary’s Basilica by its Archpriest Father Infułat, Dr. Robert Piwowarczyk, the catechist at High School no. Holy Mass was celebrated with the help of the High School’s flagship posts, who held a guard of honor at the altar.

Father Infułat welcomed the representatives of the school community in the person of the Director of the VI LO, Dr. Czesław Wróbel, Ms. Deputy Director, Marty Nowak, P.T. Teachers and numerous young people, and expressed his joy at the possibility of a liturgical meeting in the venerable walls of St. Mary’s Basilica, so closely related to the history of Krakow. The main celebrant based his homily around fragments of two works by the patron of the Secondary School: “Invocation” from “Pan Tadeusz” and the poem entitled “Reason and Faith.” The pretext for referring to the first work is the spatial relations in the Main Market Square between St. Mary’s Basilica and the Adam Mickiewicz monument directly directed to it, which in a symbolic way – said Father Infullo – can be interpreted as evidence of a deeper relationship between the poet and the Mother of God. Reading the “Invocation” leaves no doubts in this respect and suggests that for the poet, the Virgin Mary played a great role as the patroness of Poland and Lithuania, as the protector of family places and, finally, as the cause of his miraculous saving from an accident he suffered in his childhood:

“Holy Virgin, you defend Jasna Częstochowa
And in Ostra Brama you shine! You, what a castle stronghold
You protect Nowogrodek with his faithful people!
How did you miraculously recover my child … “

For us, living today, this example of deep entrustment to the Mother of God may have, just like for Mickiewicz, invigorating effects and encourage personal reflection, emphasized Father Infułat. Mystical experiences and religious reflections accompanied Mickiewicz in various phases of his life. The poem “Rozum i wiara” from 1832, emphasizing the intellectual ambitions of people, proves the negligence of the power of reason over faith reaching areas inaccessible to it:

“He understands human! You are little before the Lord (…)
Ah! You would be blind without Faith. “

This does not mean – said Father Infułat – to give up cognitive ambitions, because they are the basic task for every school and the youth studying there, but that the process of acquiring knowledge is accompanied by an act of spiritual sublimation, making people not only wiser, but also interested in deepening own spirituality. Confirmation of the correctness of this position can be found in the encyclical “Faith and reason” by John Paul II, where we read: “Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to contemplate the truth”

This, the ability to combine cognitive ambitions with the development of the spiritual sphere in the pursuit of truth, was wished by the Infułat, present in St. Mary’s Basilica, at the end of the Mass. your blessing.

Director of High School no. in the intention of all those associated with High School No. 6, he emphasized the value of the wide open gates of St. Mary’s Basilica in front of young people, which allows them not only to enter the sphere of the sacred, but also to commune with outstanding works of art that have accumulated in the Basilica for centuries, such as the altar of Wit Stwosz or the polychrome of John Matejko, which may increase the level of aesthetic and emotional sensitivity in young people.

After the solemn mass, flowers were placed on the pedestal of the Adam Mickiewicz monument in the Main Square by the management and the youth of High School No. 6.

The second part of the jubilee celebrations took place in the “Kijów” cinema room, which could hardly accommodate all the participants.

After the introduction of banner posts and singing the hymn of VI LO im. A. Mickiewicz, which is the “Song of the Filarets”, young announcers who hosted the meeting (both duets Dominika Rusek and Konrad Pelczyk and Paulina Doniec and Mateusz Wróbel did very well in this role) welcomed the guests, the Management, the Teaching Staff and Students of our High School and gave a brief introduction that is worth recalling in full.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Colleagues!

The school is a unique place that makes you aware of the passage of time. Every year, new students start their education there, and high school graduates go into adulthood. And this is how successive years and even entire generations pass. VI LO is a school with a very long and rich tradition and the year 2012/13 is the jubilee year in which we celebrate the 110th anniversary of its existence. Today’s ceremony is to combine three – how different – events. The first took place on December 24, 1798, when Mr. Mikołaj Mickiewicz was enjoying the birth of his second son, Adam Bernard. We all know that the bard attached special importance to his birthday – after all, Christmas Eve is (according to biblical tradition) a special day, waiting for the birth of God and the birth of the first human being. A family legend said that the future poet was born in an inn, halfway between Zaosie and Nowogródek. The summoned midwife – for lack of better equipment – cut the umbilical cord of the newborn on the book, “wanting to use it as a wise one”. And it was a collection of the works of Bishop Krasicki. Little Adaś “had” to become a famous artist.
Mickiewicz’s biography is an example of the fate of the first generation of Poles “born in captivity”, the generation of romantic “enthusiasts” who took the trouble to create a new way of thinking about the world, a new national culture, and new forms of struggle for independence.
The time of partitions also includes another event that should be mentioned today. In 1902, a branch of the State Gymnasium of St. Jacek, the nucleus of one of the oldest high schools in Krakow, our high school. The school was always meant to decorate the city, to benefit students, their parents, the neighborhood and the homeland. How it is in line with the ideas of the poet, which he himself expressed in the following words: “A Pole, hence famous among nations, that he loves his home country more than life”. Mr. Adam also had a chance to work (but in the Kaunas school) as a poorly paid teacher. From the letters he sent to his friends left in Vilnius, it appears that he did not admire his students very much, because he wrote about them: “Boredom and boredom, and thirdly, boredom (…) nothing but slowness and fluffiness in the head.”
The year 1925 connected the person of the Prophet and the fate of the Lyceum. It was then that the school was named after Adam Mickiewicz, which it can be proud of today.
Adam Mickiewicz, like all great romantics, believed in the unlimited possibilities of young people. He believed that we can overcome all obstacles and barriers, we have the power to change reality, we can “get off our feet the mass of the world”, therefore words taken from “Ode to youth” – “Youth! Fly above the levels, ”we made the motto of the celebration
110th anniversary of our high school “

Then, the honorable host of the ceremony took the floor, the Director of High School no. VI, Dr. Czesław Wróbel, who welcomed all the guests and asked for a speech by the President of the City of Krakow, Professor Jacek Majchrowski.

The Mayor of Krakow, congratulating the community of High School No. 6 on achieving the beautiful jubilee of the 110th anniversary of its existence, expressed his appreciation for the excellent level of education, achieving a higher and higher level in the Krakow hierarchy of education and wished further educational success, enriching the material base and creating such an intellectual and emotional climate, in which all the aspirations of students and teachers can be met as part of the multi-faceted activities of the School.

The Mayor of the City of Krakow, Jacek Majchrowski, presented Honoris Gratia badges to three foreign language teachers from High School No. 6 (founders of bilingual classes). The teachers who received the badges were Ewa Lubińska (English), Małgorzata Michalska-Derlatka (Spanish) and Teresa Sikora (Spanish).

The headmaster of the school – Dr. Czesław Wróbel, in turn, received a commemorative woodcut reproduction made on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of entering Kraków and the Wieliczka Salt Mine on the first UNESCO list. After the President of Krakow, other Honorary Guests took the floor, including:

Mr. Bogusław Kośmider – Chairman of the Krakow City Council, who in recognition of the achievements of the VI Lyceum handed over to the Head of Czesław Wróbel medal
commemorating twenty years of activity (since 1991) of local government in the Royal Capital City of Krakow,

Mr. Aleksander Palczewski – the Małopolska Superintendent of Education,

After the flagship post of the Lyceum was released, the artistic part of the jubilee celebrations began.

Its first accent was the performance entitled “Such were the games, disputes in those years” inspired by the national epic of Adam Mickiewicz performed by the school theater “Proscenium” in the following composition: Mateusz Hrynkiewicz (musical arrangement), Dominika Mucha, Kinga Świgost, Milena Domagała, Jakub Sagan, Dominik Setlak, Krzysztof Materny , Konrad Pelczyk, Tomasz Ciećko, Magdalena Daczyńska, Marianna Siembiot, Klaudia Radwańska, Antonina Kurek, Ilona Wawrzeń, Wiktoria Pacułt, Karolina Iwaszkiewicz, Magdalena Paciorek, Dominika Popiołek, Martyna Otocka, Katarzyna Kryształ, Agnieszka Bień, Aleksandra Włodarz, Tomasz Walczak, Mikołaj Dziewoński (graduate), Dominika Kuzaj (graduate), Maciej Czuchraj (graduate) and teachers: Małgorzata Dorosz, Agata Jaszczur, Aneta Kulig, Marlena Maciejewska, Katarzyna Płaza, Marcin Skoczeń. Screenplay and direction (based on “Pan Tadeusz”): Dr. Marlena Maciejewska.

The show, prepared on a grand scale, had a lively pace and was characterized by spontaneity, yet it was coherent and well-kept in line with the composition. The collective scenes in which the stage movement and dance routines were harmoniously intertwined with vocal performances were perfectly resolved. The performers of individual roles kept pace with this level, entertaining viewers with their creations, but also getting personal pleasure from their stage activities. The value of the performance was also the music that created the atmosphere of carefree fun and lyrical reflection. Therefore, it is not surprising that after the end of the performance, the audience thanked the author of the staging and the entire team with loud and long applause for preparing such a colorful and dynamic theatrical event. The above-mentioned list of people shows the excellent cooperation and atmosphere in the Lyceum between current students, graduates and the teaching staff.

The second part, based on the motto “Talent and passion”, was a presentation of artistic activities performed by the students of “Six” and talented young people who came to the “Kijów” cinema as guests to celebrate the School’s jubilee together.
