A group of 19 delighted students of our high school has just returned from Paris and Fontainebleau, together with the equally delighted organizers of the exchange, Ms Aneta Wojtaszek and Ms Izabela Żelazna.

We visited the most beautiful places (Montmartre, Marais, Quartier Latin, Ile de la Cite, Ile Saint-Louis) and the museums of Paris (Louvre, Musee d’Orsay, Musee Marmottan, Bibliotheque Polonaise and Musee Adam Mickiewicz).

In real summer weather, we traveled through Paris under the supervision of French guides and organizers, enjoying an intimate and full of artistic flavors guided tour of the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay.

We were enchanted by everything … Rich, full of architectural attractions, sightseeing program, company, weather and, completely natural in France, cuisine.

We would like to thank the students for their EXAMPLE attitude and personal culture. We would like to thank the parents of our students for the wonderful way with young people from France.

From September 29, 2012 to October 2, 2012, a French delegation from the International Lyceum named after Dr. Czesław Wróbel was visiting Krakow at the invitation of the director. Francis I.

The stay of the French group was a continuation of plans to organize an international exchange between Secondary School No. 6 and Lycée François Ier.

The delegation included: Deputy Director Mr. Didier Matha with her wife, Evelyne Matha and Mrs. Evelyne Wenzel, president of the Association for International Cooperation at the Fontainebleau City Hall, initiator of contacts between our schools.

The visit program included:

– establishing the principles of cooperation and exchange dates

– presentation of the school and a group of teachers dealing with exchange from the Polish side

– visiting the Wawel Royal Castle, Market Square, Kazimierz and the Collegium Maius Museum

– meeting with the vice-president at the City Hall

– meeting with the vice-consul, Mr. Alain Schneider at the French Consulate General at Stolarska Street

The result of the stay of the French group was the setting of the date of the exchange for March / April 2013, the number of participants, maximum 20 people, the program of participants’ stay in Poland and France on the well-known principles of interschool exchange and confirmation of the willingness to admit the Lycée François Ier for one school year of the 6th LO fluent in French. Moreover, in the future, there is a possibility of admitting students of our high school to preparation classes for studies at renowned universities in France.

On the Polish side, the persons dealing with the exchange and contacts with the French high school are Ms Aneta Wojtaszek and Ms Izabela Żelazny, a teacher of culture.

Lycée François Ier is a school with a level of teaching comparable to the level of our high school, therefore it is important to maintain contacts that can be very beneficial for our students and affect their development in the field of French and, due to the existence of the English section and German bilinguals at the Francis I Lyceum, art classes and economic sections, for development in other scientific fields.

The guests were impressed by the organization of their stay, official meetings, meetings in the school principal’s office and the sightseeing program. On the website of the French high school there is already a link devoted to the exchange with Secondary School No. 6.

Exchange with Lycée François Ier in Fonatainebleau

In March and April 2013, for the first time in the history of Secondary School No. 6, preceded by many bilateral talks in Poland and France, there will be an international exchange with the International Secondary School. Francis I in Fontainebleau, Lycée International François Ier.

And it all started with a spontaneous visit by Ms Evelyne Wenzel, the president of the ARCIF association at the Fontainebleau City Hall, who came to our high school, wanting to establish long-term cooperation with Krakow schools.

Then there was a meeting with the French teacher, Ms Aneta Wojtaszek, during which it was found that the level of both schools and the interests of the students predestine both institutions to cooperate.

Thanks to these arrangements and many telephone contacts, on June 21-26, 2012, at the invitation of Mr. Didier Math, the deputy director of the International Lyceum, the Director of the VI Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. A. Mickiewicz, Dr. Czesław Wróbel and the French teacher Aneta Wojtaszek as a translator.

The contacts with the directors and teaching staff of Lycée François I took place in a warm atmosphere.

This high school is a school of the same high level as the VI High School, it runs a wide network of foreign contacts, exchanges and trips. It is oriented, just like our school, on the comprehensive development of young people with ambitious scientific goals, European openness and the integration of young people in the changing world reality.

From the first day you could see that the principal, Didier Matha, is a great enthusiast of the exchange with our high school, but also an extremely open, sociable man and personally taken over by the intellectual development of young people.

These few days spent in over a hundred years old school, among teachers fascinated by the idea of contacts with Poland, people with great culture and knowledge, also about our country, allow us to hope for a high level of exchange.

Developing contacts with the Secondary School of Fontainebleau will be beneficial for the Secondary School No. 6 due to the possibility of: language improvement of young people (French, English, German), the existence of bilingual, economic and artistic sections, the possibility of constant contact with the world cultural heritage presented by Fontainebleau and nearby Paris.

In addition to visiting the castle in Fontainebleau, the exchange program includes three days in Paris devoted to visiting the most famous monuments, artistic workshops and, most importantly, strengthening contacts between the Polish-French group during their stay with the correspondents’ families.

The contact with the directors and teaching staff of Lycée Francis I took place in a warm atmosphere. This high school is a school of the same high level as the VI High School, it runs a wide network of foreign contacts, exchanges and trips. It is oriented, just like our school, on the comprehensive development of young people with ambitious scientific goals, the integration of young people in a changing reality.
